Paddington and Clive then began training in tracking and passed his Tracking Qualification Test in April 2004.
At the Golden Retriever Club of Victoria's 2004 Trial he qualified for his Test 1 with a grading of Excellent and then had the opportunity to track on. He passed his Test 2 also with a grading of Excellent and earned his Tracking Dog Title! Paddington was also awarded the T Ch Pointgold Pure Pleasure CDX ET Trophy for the Highest Graded Golden Retriever in Trial.
Two weeks later, Paddington passed his Test 3 in tracking, and continued on, passing his Test 4 with an Excellent grading and Test 5 with a Very Good grading. These passes gave Paddington his Tracking Dog Excellent Title!
At the last Tracking Trial for the year, Paddington attempted Test 6 and qualified! He is now a Tracking Champion! What a star!
Paddington passed all the required tests for his Champion Title in one tracking season, gaining three Excellent gradings along the way, showing his aptitude for this discipline.
We were very excited when Paddington was awarded Tracking Dog of the Year 2004 by the Tracking Club of Victoria based on his scores throughout the season. His brother, Tully had also been given this award in 2002!
