April came to us from Jane Fall (Fernfall Golden Retrievers). Her mother Holly, Fernfall Sun Dancer, was a regular on the television show 'Neighbours'.
From the start she showed promise in the show ring, winning her baby puppy class at the SA Championship Show and being placed second at the Adelaide Royal and the Golden Retriever National in SA.
At the 1999 Royal Melbourne Show, April was awarded Best of Breed by Judge Miss Dorothy MacDonald (USA) from an entry of 164 dogs. On specials day she was selected in the eight finalists for the gundog group. On both days she was expertly handled for us by Rebecca Fall.
April was also awarded the Encouragement Award 1999 for conformation from the Golden Retriever Club of Vic.
