But Peppa's forte was in the Obedience trial ring although it was not apparent at first.  At Peppa's first Novice Trial in 1988 she sat at the starting post while Cheryl completed the off lead heeling pattern by herself.   

Six years later when Peppa was eight years old, she
re-entered the trial ring with Clive and showed her true form.  She achieved her Companion Dog Title (CD) in three trials in March 1994.  Her highest score was 197  out of a possible 200 points.

Peppa was runner up by only one point to her grandson, Desglynne Mariner Boy for the Golden Retriever Club of

Victoria's Highest Scoring Novice Obedience Award for 1995.   Later that year Peppa achieved her Companion Dog Excellent Title (CDX).

Along the way Peppa also had a litter of seven puppies.

Peppa's favourite activity was swimming.  Many times we would walk alongside the river and she would swim up and down the centre without ever coming back to the bank until we had to leave.

A remarkable Golden Retriever, she will always remain close in our hearts and thoughts.
